The new dispensation was indeed a dawn of a new Era. The comedy industry particularly seems to have embraced the flexibility,  revolution and turn around of things.Saturday was a blessed night, an anniversary for Bustop TV one of the leading online entertainment providers . A night with a new president and a free comedy show with an exceptional line up,  one couldnt have a better night.

Bustop TV turned 3 this Saturday and this 36 months journey was a fruitful one which saw them grow from comic skits makers into other informative and entertaining entities of the online TV service provision. The journey has graced them with several awards and nominations, with the founder  Luckie Aaroni appearing on the top 100 of the most influential Zimbabwean and Gonyeti recieving a NAMA nomination and a ZIWA award.  This is a clear indication of commitment, undivided focus and hardwork.

Zee-Scope on the anniversary freevoice comedy show.

A great line up was set to  give us doses of laughter with some opening acts who left a challenge for the headliners. Ian phiri was the first appearance. He managed to gear us up for the dose of rib cracking laughter. Tatenda mbudzi,  stood his ground,  however I wasnt impressed by some of his gross explicitness,or maybe I just got too serious for comedy and carried with me some virtues not necessary. However he did not do bad. Sp the one liner was dope, a soft spoken dude who manages to break the silence into echos of laughter. The hosts Magi and Gonyeti didn't slack,  the two well dressed ladies facilitated a smooth progression of the proceedings.

To represent matebeland and cover up for the insignificance (that week) of Cde Phelekezela mphoko,  former vice president of Zimbabwe was Clive Chigubhu and Mandla Da Comedian. Mandla had the crowd in tears with his set revolving particularly on the political developments. His imitations of the former president's conversations left my ribs aching,  he still owes me some medical fees. I had heard some news on Clive Chigubhu,  how dope he was and all sorts of praise but hadn't really got a chance to attend any of his shows. Well truth be told,  Clive did live up to the claims. His set was lit.

I was impressed by ProBeatz, his ability to suit his art with different types of audiences. I have seen him on several stages, differently themed events, managing to please each particular audience. ProBeatz fused Beatboxing with some comedy and kept us entertained and laughing.

Lady B almost spoiled the show,  won't say much,  but I'm still wondering how she performs for an unforgiving zimdancehall audience. With what she offered on the free comedy show , I was dissapointed,  or it was some comedy that escaped my sense of humor ?

Doc Vickella and Comic pastor are some of my favorites on the local comedy scene, after the show, I could safely promote them to my favorites on a regional level. Doc Vikela gave us a lit set inspired by our everyday social lives. Everybody could relate to his set,  but as usual he pounced on Alick Macheso who he sarcastically claims is one of his favorite musicians.

All thanks to Nash Paints,  Sam Bennett foundation and several other sponsors who managed to sponsor the free voice comedy show.Happy 3rd anniversary Bustop TV
