Down the memory lane

Down that memory lane Misfortune ruthlessly licks off your sweat Awaiting to suck life out of your struggling endeavors a bare and barren background A few shades of dim street lights Limiting our horizons

Down the memory lane

Down the memory lane
Are dilapidated pavements
Filthy,  dusty hope-eating streets
Rusty regret signs and ignored detours
Momentarily nostalgic air breezes

Down the memory lane
Are the lawyers' gown tatters
The business men's decaying briefcases
The doctors' corroding stethoscopes
Unpublished writers' scripts
Scripts from which the termites benefited

Down that memory lane
Are a lot of unfair deals
Miscalculated endeavors
Jane,  John and James
Trade their future for a day's meal

Down that memory lane
Misfortune ruthlessly licks off your sweat
Awaiting to suck life out of your struggling endeavors
a bare and barren background
A few shades of dim street lights
Limiting our horizons

So think twice
Before driving me there
The views are brutally agonizing
The air is just too dry to breathe
Down the memory lane
